city cold night
we are a
bundle of fiberful love
girl of my bone
flesh emerged from
a locket beneath my heart
this is how we laugh
while wind licks the fog
in papa's boyhood home

- These writings are a tribute to mothering Avelina Claridad and now Marcel Joao Santos Salazar. They are my second and third-born children. My first daughter, Amaly Celeste died one month after birth - only one year before Avelina was born.
