- These writings are a tribute to mothering Avelina Claridad and now Marcel Joao Santos Salazar. They are my second and third-born children. My first daughter, Amaly Celeste died one month after birth - only one year before Avelina was born. This blog helps me to hold all of their lives within and allows the spirit of my writing to honor how they affect me in the present.

Dear Aida,
Congratulations on your new labor of love...he is absolutly gorgeous. Both Avi and Joao have very big spirits and it pours out of the pictures. As you know, they grow fast so take lots of pictures. It's a crazy idea to think I(you) am a mother but once you met your little ones, you just can't imagine life any different.
Again, congratulations and we'll see you soon.
